Practiced as a powerful relaxation technique for thousands of years, yoga nidra cultivates our inner power to remain still, calm and centered in the midst of the chaos of our daily lives. Through a sequence of guided relaxation, breathing techniques, and meditation, we move into a deeply restorative, sleep-like state while remaining aware of what’s happening, increasing our natural healing capacity and reducing negative reactivity to challenges in our daily lives. This class includes some gentle movement at the beginning to encourage circulation, followed by a long, luxurious rest period using blankets and bolsters to support the body.
